Courageous Conservatives PAC, currently leading the effort to allow delegates to vote their conscience is urging Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to step forward as a potential candidate to avoid a likely November electoral disaster with Donald Trump as a candidate.
“Governor Walker’s name is the only one being mentioned seriously as someone who can unite all factions of the Republican Party and we’re urging him to step forward and agree to accept a draft,” said PAC spokesman Steve Lonegan.
“We do not support a Third Party candidacy under any circumstances,” Lonegan said. “We want to defeat Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump just isn’t going to do it. Scott Walker will.”
Responding to those who claim “rules should be followed” Lonegan said delegates are chosen to do what’s best for the party and its candidates. “Otherwise, why have delegates?”
Courageous Conservatives PAC was formed in October 2015 to support the election of Ted Cruz and other strong principled conservative candidates. The organization is leading a petition effort urging Rules Committee members to allow delegates to vote their consciences at www.FREEtheGOP.com.
